Frequently asked questions.
What issues or concerns do you specialize in treating?
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders (including OCD and Pure Obsessional OCD), panic attacks, PTSD, and other trauma-related concerns. I also focus on men’s mental health, life transitions, and identity-related challenges.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and integrates psychodynamic self psychology, helping clients explore early relational experiences, emotional development, and the impact of unconscious patterns on current behaviors and relationships.
What can I expect during the first therapy session?
In our first session, we’ll explore your concerns, history, and what brings you to therapy now. This is a time for me to get to know you and for you to ask any questions. Together, we’ll begin shaping a personalized treatment plan based on your values and goals.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
Therapy is highly individual. Some clients find relief in 8–12 sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust the treatment plan to best support your evolving needs.
Is online therapy effective?
Yes, research shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for many mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. It also provides the convenience and privacy of meeting from your own space.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. Navigating reimbursement disputes with insurance providers often takes away from time I devote to client care. However, I can provide a superbill upon request, which may allow you to use out-of-network benefits for potential reimbursement through your insurance.
Full payment is due at the time of each session. I accept cash, check, and credit/debit cards. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for telehealth therapy—please reach out if this is something you’d like to discuss.
Do you plan to offer in-person sessions at an office?
At this time, I do not offer in-office sessions. I work with a small number of clients and focus primarily on secure telehealth therapy. This helps me keep services more accessible and affordable.
If you're unable to attend virtual sessions, I do offer limited home-based therapy services in certain cases. Please contact me directly to see if this option is available for you.
What are your hours?
I offer appointments Monday through Friday, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. These evening hours are ideal for working professionals and tend to fill quickly, so please reach out for current availability.
Are you taking new clients?
Availability fluctuates depending on my current caseload. The best way to find out is to send a message or call. If I have openings, I’d be happy to schedule an initial consultation with you.
What’s your policy on cancellations?
I understand that life happens. Your first no-show or late cancellation (less than 24 hours' notice) will be waived. After that, I kindly ask for:
24 hours' notice for weekday sessions
48 hours' notice for weekend sessions
Missed appointments without proper notice may incur the full session fee. Therapy works best when it’s built on mutual respect, consistency, and trust.
